The Dwyers – Bowling with Jesus

Finnish punk rockers, The Dwyers, has put together a raging batch of songs on Bowling with Jesus, the band’s sophomore album.

Comprised of Eemeli Lehtonen and Mirko Metsola on guitars and vocals; Antotoni Alho on bass and Mikko Jarvio behind the kit, The Dwyers keep the punk rock pedal to the floor in the vein of No Use for a Name, The Descendents and Useless ID.  Bowling with Jesus is filled to the brim with high energy tracks like “Payday,” “Rewind,” “Shit Hits Me” and “Heartbreaker.”  “When the Booze is Gone” is a fantastic addition to your summer party playlist.

If you were ever curious how So Cal punk rock translated into Finnish, wonder no more.  The Dwyers sound like they could have been birthed in Orange County, California alongside The Offspring (the o.g. version, of course).  If you’re not able to attend this year’s Warped Tour, Bowling with Jesus is a decent substitute for your summer punk rock fix.
