Funk/Soul for the Week

Funk/Soul For the Week

Let’s Do It AgainThe Staple Singers– Talk about kicking back on a Sunday afternoon.  This song makes me long for the summertime.  Grilling some Carne Asada on the grill, with a Budweiser in one hand and pinsas in the other.  Grilling on a Webber Grill, while wearing a wife beater and a Dodger Hat in the park!  Doesn’t this song take you to that time?  I thought of this a few Podcasts ago when Justin was talking about his famous grill!  Next time he has a BBQ, just tell him to turn this track on and kick back on your lawn chair!

At Your BestThe Isley Brothers:  The Isley Brothers are R&B royalty.  The have been making music longer than I’ve been alive.  This song is off of their Harvest for the World album released in 1976, which was the year I was born.  It is a smooth track that was covered by the late Aaliyah!  It is a great song and the album has another standout slow jam entitled “Let Me Down Easy” which has a very ethereal sound.  I just wanted to let KY know that she is a positive motivating force within my life!   So KY Let Me Know!
