Funk/Soul for the Week

Funk/Soul for the Week!

Hyperbolicsyllabicsesquedalymistic- Isaac Hayes:  Now that’s a mouth full isn’t it!  This funk jam was released on Hayes’ 1970 sophmore album, “Hot Buttered Soul.”  Like many of his albums, this album only had four tracks, but many of his tracks here 10 minutes in length.  Many of knew Hayes as the wacky chef from the hit TV Show South Park.  But back in the day, Hayes’ was a funk master!  This song is no exception, this is hard hittin’ funk.  My only question to Dr. J, “What the heck is Hyperbolicsyllabicsesquedalymistic?”

My First Love- Rene & Angela: Rene & Angela were a production/writing duo from the 80’s.  Apparently this song was written for Janet Jackson, but she turned it down, so the duo decided to record the track themselves.  This song is a very romantic track.  It is taken from their 1983 album RISE. This is a wonderful ballad that I dedicate to our very own KY, cause she is my first love!
