Callers – “How You Hold Your Arms”

Today, the Callers released their sophomore album, Life of Love, and today, we give you a little taste (if you haven’t purchased it already!) by offering you a free download of their song, “How You Hold Your Arms.”

This slow track that has a bit of an eerie sound to it, led by a strategically timed guitar melody, an incredibly slow beat and Lead Singer Sara Lucas’ fluttery voice. Don Godwin and Ryan Seaton are the two other members of Callers and back up Lucas nicely, without over shadowing her. The overall sound of the song reminds the listener of a hot, muggy day in the Callers’ place of conception, New Orleans. There aren’t any Dixie band influences, but the salty, melancholy crawl of the song seems to encapsulate the weather altogether.
